Mesotherapy for Chronic Pain

Mesotherapy:  An Alternative Treatment for General Medical Problems and Chronic Pain

A wide variety of conditions can be treated with this technique as each treatment is formulated to meet each patient's unique problem. Treatments can benefit patients suffering from muscle spasms, carpal tunnel syndrome, tarsal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, TMJ syndrome, bursitis and many other chronic painful conditions and general medical conditions.

Mesotherapy is an interventional natural medicine technique and must be performed by a licensed health care practitioner who is permitted to do injections.

Mesotherapy actually stimulates the mesoderm (mesoderm is the middle layer of the skin), which in turn relieves a wide variety of symptoms and ailments.  Collagen (which is the primary connective tissue in the body) makes up the muscles, ligaments, tendons and bone and is derived from the mesoderm.  The mesoderm also involves the adipose or fat tissue and connective tissues around the organs.

The technique involves the injection of substances to stimulate the mesoderm.  The compounds injected into the mesoderm during Mesotherapy depend upon the pathophysiology of the disease process.  Natural extracts are used whenever possible but sometimes traditional pharmacological agents are required .  In many conditions, the pathophysiology is multifactorial so multiple agents are used.

In some instances muscle relaxants are used, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, calcitonins, vitamins, minerals and plant extracts, hormones,   vasodilatators, immunostimulants, lipolytics, and healing agents.

Mesotherapy injections involve extremely small needles that penetrate the body only a very small depth. Small doses of drugs are administered.  The medication injected is usually the same as the one prescribed orally, although in some cases the amount injected in Mesotherapy is about 60 times less than if the same medication was ingested over a weekly period.

Mesotherapy should not be performed more than once per week.  The length of time between sessions is determined by the condition being treated and as improvement is noted treatments are given less frequently..  Some conditions may even call for sessions with a one month interval.  A minimum of three to five sessions of Mesotherapy are generally done to access response.

Mesotherapy was pioneered by the French Physician, Dr. Michel Pistor over 50 years ago.  More than ,1500 doctors in France utilize Mesotherapy in their practices for their patient care.  Many doctors throughout the world are recognizing its great potential for treating their patients with less medication, less often.

Dr. Pistor said "A little, not very often, in the right spot."

Doctor Bhardwaj has been trained in Mesotherapy  and earned his certificate to practice  under the auspices of  Docteur Jaques Le Coz, the International Executive Co-ordinator for  Mesotherapy Studies, in Paris, France. Dr. Bhardwaj also studied with Docteur A. Lejunie of St. Germain en Laye.
