Normally pain is a signal to our brain that our tissue has been injured in some way, the more intense the pain the worse the injury. As tissue heals the pain diminishes but for some people the pain gets worse.
What is chronic pain?
· Pain that continues a month or beyond the usual recovery time for an injury or pain that goes on over months or years as a result of a chronic condition.
- An affliction that disables, to some degree almost 86 million Americans.
- A condition that affects the quality of life and economic security for the person with pain.
At some point most people with chronic pain are told to just "live with it".
The first order of business is to find out what kind of pain you have.
Using ultra sound imaging we are able to diagnose the reason for your pain in the following areas: neck and thoracic cage, shoulder, elbow, arm, wrist, and hand, pelvis, hip and thigh, knee, calf, ankle and foot. Once diagnosed the correct therapy can be performed to heal the pain. We use a number of techniques for treating chronic pain:-
Neural Therapy
Neural Therapy is recognized as a tremendously effective technique to eliminate chronic pain. The therapy involves the injection of local anesthetics into specific tissue to normalize the illness-related dysfunction. In the United States, neural therapy is often used only for specific procedures, while in other parts of the world it has become one of the most widely used modalities in the treatment of pain. Neural therapy works by increasing circulation and blood supply to the affected areas, thereby eliminating the field of interference that interrupts the natural energy flow through the body.
Prolotherapy
Prolotherapy was developed over fifty years ago and is a non-surgical method of assisting the body to heal injured tendons and ligaments. Prolotherapy helps your body make new cells which strengthen lax or torn ligaments. Prolotherapy involves the injection of herbs and dextrose into the areas where ligaments are weak and damaged. There are numerous positive factors in prolotherapy, firstly it promotes the body's own natural healing ability, secondly it restores and optimizes the body's natural functions. No heavy drugs or surgery are involved. The treatment is useful for many different types of musculoskeletal pain, including back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, unresolved whiplash injuries, partially torn tendons, ligaments and cartilage, degenerated or herniated discs.
Mesotherapy
Many chronic and painful conditions and general medical conditions can be treated by the interventional natural medicine technique known as Mesotherapy. The technique involves the injection of substances to stimulate the mesoderm or middle layer of skin which in turn relieves a wide variety of symptoms or ailments. Natural extracts are used whenever possible but sometimes traditional pharmacological agents are required. Mesotherapy injections involve extremely small needles that penetrate the body only a very small depth. Mesotherapy - Less medication, less often.
Resultant Force Vector Technique
A dental connection to headaches, chronic pain, neurological, visceral and structural problems.
Many unexpected relationships have been revealed between the teeth, muscles, temporomandibular joints, posture and other systems in the body. Any structural change from trauma, dentistry, surgery, wear and tear and aging can adversely influence the interrelationships between the bones, joints and muscles. The RFV technique assess the patients structural integrity. The RFV technique is fast and highly accurate.
